Effective particle approach to theory and phenomenology of strong interactions
Precise description of processes that involve quarks and gluons requires mathematically well-defined concept of particle. The seminar addresses this issue starting with the concept of quantum field operator. It presents the renormalization group procedure that makes the concept of effective particles sufficiently precise for studying QCD and finding out if it can explain the notions of constituent quarks and gluons that are used in discussing physics of hadrons and their interactions.
